"Originally joined as a member some six years ago, liked it so much I bought into the business. The gym was ideal for me, it had the best equipment and having a steam room, sauna and spa was a big bonus. The fact that the gym was for what I would call ordinary people, was not intimidating, plus the price, were the major factors leading to me joining.

I am also a fully qualified masseur to VCTC standard and treat the members and non members on the premises.  It is an aim in the future to introduce other services into the business, aimed at enhancing the health and well being of the members."
 

Sue Banfield recently joined Bonners as Fitness Manager / Instructor.
Sue has over 8yrs experience in the health and fitness, and is qualified to level 2 and 3 advanced Instructor, as well as being weight management/ nutrition trained, Sue also specialises in CORE STABILITY training, and 1-2-1 Personal Training.

So What Do You Get When You Join Us?
When you join us, our assessment protocol allows us to take your training to the next level. We look at medical and injury history, lifestlye and nutritional goals and targets. We find out wither you want to improve general fitness, lose weight, build muscle, train for a sport specific event or any personal goal that you may want to reach.

Sue will take into account, your age, your health and your starting fitness.  After 12 consecutive sessions have been completed, Sue will reassess your programme and make any necessary adjustments, ensuring that you constantly progress.

"I prefer clients to take a more relaxed attitude towards healthy eating and exercise. Strict diets, and pounding our bodies for hours on the treadmill, will almost certainly end up putting people off completely, sooner rather than later. The only sure fire way of keeping the weight off and staying fit and healthy for life, is by remaining focused on your long and short term goals, eating a varied and sensible diet, where all foods can be accessed, and keeping to a varied progressive exercise plan. I have found that this approach keeps people happier and results in more successfully reaching their goals."
 

Bonners' Philip Balding (51) is new a partner in the company and has worked in the county for the past 10 years as a journalist on the Northamptonshire Evening Telegraph based in Kettering. He is married with four children and lists reading, swimming, theatre and working out in a gym among his hobbies.
